Scarlett Wright
Much of Scarlett Wright’s work is concerned with the natural world; more specifically looking into plant species and their symbolic meaning. The act of walking is the starting point for her research, it allows for the natural connection between the artist and the subject to organically form. Researching the species' history, symbolism, traditions and mythology attracts her and is the focal point of her practice. Using her research as a platform to inform her sculptures. Archibald-Wright often casts directly from the plants themselves creating a connection between the man-made and the natural. Her fascination with the natural world further extends to museology, which she uses as a platform to present her sculptures.
